Native Plants

Whenever possible, Smartscape incorporates native plants into their landscaping. Why?

Native plants – plants that originate in a particular place – are the best suited and most genetically adapted to the various climatic and soil conditions in our area. This means that they have an increased likelihood of sustaining the work that we do. They require less maintenance and management, as they are already predisposed to growing in the area’s pre-existing conditions. In addition to being the most hearty species to use, Smartscape believes utilizing native plants helps to promote the region’s natural biodiversity. Finally, Smartscape uses native plants whenever possible, as not only do they look great, but because it’s the smart thing to do.
